Review: Wet n' Wild Ultimate Match Liquid Foundation in nude

Actual photo.

Product Description:

Trying to blend the foundation. (whoops! too much for a swatch!)

When blended.

(Upper hand: no foundation
Lower hand: with foundation)

This product was a part of my Manila Haul. I was able to purchase this because my bezt who served as my tour guide that night was looking for a concealer. She was asking me on what concealer would best suit her not only in skin tone but her lifestyle as well. She works at a clinic and she's always in a rush. I have known her for years now and I know that she's impatient when it comes to applying make up.

After trying on different products at the counter (Beauty by SM at SM North Edsa), she finally settled with Wet n Wild's since it was only for 299. :) While I was waiting for her to finally make up her mind, I was trying on some swatches and I found this. I got interested because of it's super light-weight formula, which I think is a first for me. So there we go paying for them at the counter.

What I like about the product:
  • It is indeed light weight. It's like as if you're not wearing any foundation at all.
  • It has spf 15, which is already good for a foundation that's only worth 499.
  • Amongst the other foundations I have swatched on my skin, this is probably that one that matched my skin tone, even if I got one shade lighter. And my friend who is a morena found one that matched her perfectly.
  • A little amount goes a long way. Tipid.
  • This is best for high school or college students who can't resist to wear make up in school even if they are not allowed to.
  • It's also best for those who need to wear make up to work but aren't too comfortable with the full coverage that other foundations provide.
  • After application, it definitely gives me that glowing look as what the product promised. Not the oily look.
  • Very easy to blend with fingers. Especially when you re in a rush.
  • It smells nice compared to my Sophie Paris Liquid Foundation.
What I don't like about the product:
  • Does not have that long staying power. I sweat a lot, so by the end of the day, I don't have this foundation on my skin anymore.
  • It's in a glass bottle. I find it difficult to pour on the back of my hands as well as on the mixing plate.
  • Oily skinned women might find this too greasy.
Over all:

I will still use this foundation, especially on those days when I have to fix myself up sooo fast and during those days when it's just to deym hot outside. Since I sweat a lot under my eyes, on my nose, chin and upper lip, I use this with a little technique that my gay friend taught me.

Tips:

It would be helpful to store this product upside down, instead of just letting it stand since it's in a thick bottle. It's best applied with a stippling brush. For those with oily skin, it is best to let the product dry in front of a fan before finishing it with a loose powder.

Will I repurchase?

Not for now, but if they repack this in a squeezable one, yes definitely. I will try to look for one that will match the benefits that this product gives me, but if I can't find one that can compare with it, then I'll try to search for a way to purchase this.

Thank you so much for reading my blog!

Much love,
Peepir

  1. Oh wow. Thanks for the review. I saw this too and was quite intrigued by "Ultimate Match". I have combi-oily skin so I'm glad to have read your review and will be skipping this one. :)

  2. I'm glad to be of help. :)
I ended up deciding to give this to a friend who's a newbie in terms of make up. Dry skin siya, so I guess this one is a good start for her.
